What are Cosmetic tattoos?
Cosmetic tattoos include brow, eyeliner and lip tattoos. It is performed using a machine and sterile disposable cartridge to insert pigment into the skin. Cosmetic tattoos are great for making your beauty routine quick, fuss free and low maintenance. Imagine waking up every morning with your brows already filled in, lips naturally coloured and defined so all you just have to do is gloss and go and eyeliner that doesn't smudge or disappear half way during the day.
What does the process involve?
The procedure is a 2 step process, consisting of the initial procedure followed by a touch up session 8-10 weeks later.
During the initial procedure, we measure, map and draw your cosmetic tattoo. Once you are happy with both the shape and colour chosen we begin the tattooing. The touch up session is to see how your cosmetic tattoo has healed and address any concerns.
Is it safe?
Yes, the procedure is carried out in strict compliance of all health and hygiene measures and only sterile, disposable cartridges and supplies are used during the procedure. The health and wellness of our clients is of the utmost importance. The pigments used are 100% vegan and cruelty free.
Is it painful?
Everyone is different and will have a different opinion on the matter. We have had clients fall asleep on the table whereas others are too scared to even consider a procedure without any numbing.
Lip clients have found it more comfortable and had less swelling without numbing than with. We don’t want the fear of pain to deter you from having a service though so if you are concerned about pain then you are more than welcome to talk to us about pain management options before your procedure.
How long does the procedure take?
Usually around 4 hours for lips and 3 hours for brows and lash line enhancement as this is not something that should be rush! Please allow extra time for filling in paper work and numbing if needed.
How long does it last?
It depends on your skin type and lifestyle factors but brows can last up to 12-18 months and lips and liners can last between 1-3 years and varies accordingly to your skin type, the ingredients in your skin care products and how often your skin is exposed to the elements. Depending on your pigment retention rate and how well you look after your cosmetic tattoo you may need a touch up sooner, especially for oiler skin types or you could go years with only slight fading over time.

How long does it take for my cosmetic tattoo to heal?
Brows - usually takes up to 2 weeks for the skin to heal. During this time it will look patchy and and feel slightly itchy as the skin scabs over, flakes off, disappears then reappear. You are advised to keep the skin clean and not get your brows wet following the procedure. Please avoid the following as they can lead to colour loss, scarring and infection;
sleeping on your face
wearing makeup on the treated area

excessive sweating
sun exposure
picking, peeling, scratching or rubbing your brows.
The pigment takes 1-2 months to settle in and resurface, at which time you will be ready for the touch up session to correct any areas that have faded or dropped out.
Eyeliner - usually takes a week or 2 to heal. During this time you may experience swelling and the the liner colour getting darker as it comes closer to the surface to then flake off and finally heal a bit lighter than on the day of treatment. Your eyelids will be normal after a week but it takes around 8-10 weeks for the real colour too bloom so we’ll know what needs addressing if anything at the touch up appointment.
Lips - usually takes a week to heal.
